Due to the absence of a unified trade union law respecting the ILO standards for freedom of association and the right to organize, establishing new unions while fulfilling the legal or administrative requirements for the official recognition of the union is not an easy task.
Our lawyers and organizers provide counseling and assistance to workers’ representative bodies to facilitate their establishment. We also monitor abidance by the right to freedom of association and provide legal representation to workers’ leaders sanctioned or dismissed from their workplace due to their union activities, in addition to undertaking solidarity actions on their behalf.
