Skills development

The training and education program focuses on skills development through training courses, study circles and the production of educational materials.

From 1996 until 2006, 2944 Palestinian workers, including women and youth were trained on a variety of topics. Our skills development courses focus on civic and labor education, legal skills—labor and human rights, monitoring ESCR violations, freedom of association and trade union organizing,  management skills for unions, advocacy and campaigning skills, strategic planning,  collective bargaining and negotiations, occupational health and safety and gender. We define the program of each course based on the needs of the target groups.

Our training courses are based on principles of non-formal education and conceived to allow a learner-centered approach taking into account the needs, motivations and experiences of participants. We encourage them to take personal responsibility for their learning process, supported by a strong group dimension and a collective approach.

Our training techniques include brainstorming, role play, discussions, simulations and group exercises.
